Auburn Sports Breakdown: Auburn picks up 2 recruits, starting receiver undergoes surgery, QB battle rages on

Auburn landed the No. 2 JUCO CB in the nation recently with the commitment of Marco Domio out of Blinn College in Texas. But Domio wasn't the only to commit to the Tigers recently. In fact, another defensive back from the same state announced his pledge to the Tigers. Only 200 miles away from Blinn College, Chris Thompson Jr from Duncanville, Texas busted the crystal ball to commit to Auburn over Texas. These two commitments moved AU up two places in the National Recruiting Rankings to No. 12.

Anthony Schwartz, Auburn's fastest receiver, underwent surgery Monday afternoon. Now fortunately, the Auburn star only underwent hand surgery due to a hand injury at practice. But this isn't good news as Schwartz is expected to miss the season opener against top 15 ranked Oregon.

Auburn's most dead-even QB battle ever hasn't found its starter yet. Only 26 days until kickoff, Gus Malzahn still hasn't made up his mind between freshmen Bo Nix and Joey Gatewood. The battle still rages on as fall camp continues. Both are desperate according to Malzahn. We'll see who wins it very soon but things unofficially feel like Joey Gatewood.
