Auburn Sports Breakdown: AU lands transfer WR, a whole bunch of Softball stuff, Auburn makes cut for 5-star guard

Tiger fans, the journey for a transfer WR is complete. On Saturday, Zach Farrar from Youngstown State committed to the Tigers. Farrar said he was exited about the role he will be in on the Plains. He fills a big need for Coach Malzahn's offense. With Ryan Davis now with the Patriots and Darrius Slayton playing with the Giants, maturity at WR was an issue for Auburn. But not anymore. Farrar, who's also been with Oklahoma and Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College plans to also play baseball for Auburn.

Tigers Softball was a long story last week. Late Friday night, the Tigers took on Colorado State in the NCAA Tournament. All was well untill the top of the 5th inning. A Colorado State player was up to bat. Auburn pitcher Ashlee Swindle pitched a normal pitch not expecting what was about to occur. The player swung, hitting a line-drive ball that collided with Swindle's forehead. She lay face-down on the ground with her glove over her forehead. After the play was over, teammates and staff rushed over to assist the Junior pitcher. Swindle was eventually carted off and sent to a hospital. That night the Tigers got the W with a 10-5 victory. Early Saturday morning, Swindle was diagnosed with a concussion. She tweeted, 'Thank you everyone for all the texts and calls. I was blessed with great doctors. God is good❤️.' Later Saturday night, Auburn fell to Arizona 1-2. Then right after that, Auburn blew out Colorado State again 8-0. Auburn will again face Arizona tonight at 6:00.

5-star 2020 guard Brandon Boston Jr has named his top 4 schools and Auburn made the cut. Auburn along with Duke, Kentucky and Florida were included in BJ's final 4. Boston is good friends with Sharife Cooper, another 5-star guard who's highly expected to commit to Auburn. For now, Boston is leaning towards Duke but if Cooper commits to AU, that could be a different story.

AU Hoops is also in the running for 5-star PF Greg Brown. Brown also likes Kansas and Texas.
