Auburn Sports Breakdown: A-Day was awesome, 3-star QB commits, Bruce Pearl gets new contract, & more

A-Day was a blast. We saw big action and it was a great game to watch if you're an Auburn fan. Bo Nix was great, Malik Willis can throw deep, and Joey Gatewood actually looks like Cam Newton. Nix, a true freshman, threw 2 TDs and went 11-16 on passes. Joey Gatewood racked up 2 TDs as well going 7-10 passing. Malik Willis threw a hail mary to Matthew Hill for a TD. But the MVP of A-Day was WR Seth Williams. He racked up 4 receptions for 103 yards and 2 TDs. He's clearly a future NFL star.

Welcome back Will! Auburn WR Will Hastings was just cleared for full contact after his second acl surgery. Hastings tore his acl in spring practice of 2018. He redshirted as a senior and will play one more year for the Tigers.

Auburn LB Chandler Wooten was injured in Auburn's annual A-Day game. Wooten injured his knee. There's no speculation on how bad the injury is but should be covered soon.

A 2020 3-star QB committed to Auburn after A-Day. Chayil Garnett from Lake Wales, FL, announced his pledge to Auburn shortly after a recent visit. Garnett isn't a super high prospect for AU but is a key commitment.

Auburn and Men's Basketball Coach Bruce Pearl have agreed to a 5-year $19.5 million contract extension. Everyone expected this as Pearl led AU to its first final 4 ever.
